New Media Communications Coordinator

Salary: £23,473 - £26,016   Scale: Band 6   Job Type: Part Time / Permanent
 
Additional Terms & Special Conditions:
Pay pro rata based on 24.25 hour week. Subject to casual car users allowance. some evening/weekend work is required in accordance with the needs of the service.

Description:

Lets Go Global is a pioneering community media project: an arts-led, internet TV channel run by and for the local and diverse communities of Trafford and Greater Manchester. The project forms part of Trafford Council's Arts & Cultural Development Section.

Pixelate aims to increase the creation of new media content across the communities of Greater Manchester, to combat social exclusion and to enable local people to have an active and creative role in their community. We have recently delivered a series of projects in Wigan, Salford, Rochdale and Tameside.

Pixelate is funded by the Greater Manchester Strategic Arts Fund through the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) and Arts Council North West (ACENW).

We are seeking an eager and forward-thinking New Media Communications Co-ordinator to take forward the success of these exciting and innovative projects. Working in a small team, you will have excellent communication skills, experience of sharing your expertise within a community setting, a flexible work approach and an aptitude and enthusiasm for new and emerging communication technologies.

The post requires knowledge and experience of business & financial skills, database management, viral & on-line marketing skills, ability to update web based applications, knowledge of web 2.0, open source software & social networking tools.

The post requires knowledge and experience of media streaming technologies, web based content management systems, broadband connectivity, networking, maintaining ICT and media equipment and knowledge of web 2.0, open source software and social networking tools.
